Gets a Medicare Jet-Setters Groovy Review

For a Medicare Jet-Setters nine-day trip to Puerta Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, Luana, Ron, Neil, and I decided to get up and go. There will be a series of articles about our trip, proving that you can still get up and go abroad even with some of the problems that aging brings. We had hearing loss, one that was scheduled for a total knee replacement 2 weeks after our return, and digestive issues between the four of us.

Luana Ash was our researcher. The first matter of business was finding a place to stay. She and Ron had gotten away from the all-inclusive resorts and were going in the Airbnb direction. Their reasoning was you were not limited to certain restaurants and could be in the middle of all the action with an Airbnb rather than having to get a taxi or Uber into town. I was uncertain. I liked all-inclusive, and it was all I had ever done in the past when visiting Mexico.

Luana found CASA 5 O'CLOCK, located smack dab in the middle of the vibrant Romantic Zone of Puerta Vallarta. Casa 5 O'Clock is a professionally decorated two bedroom/2 bath condo in the Oceana Condo Building. The apartment has an excellent water purification system, so no worries there. The rooftop saltwater pool is perfect and offers a spectacular view of the ocean, the city of PV, and the mountains. There is an elevator in the building, no stairs to climb, and there are so many fabulous restaurants and the beach within a few short steps of the condo building!

All we had to do was step outside of our condo and walk 200 steps, according to my Fitbit, and there were taxis lined up to take you anywhere. Another plus, the taxis were inexpensive in Mexico. The convenience was another great benefit of the location of our condo, especially to the one of us with knee issues.

I am now an Airbnb convert. Across the street from our condo was Margarita Grill, providing outdoor dining and known for their many varieties of margaritas; what a fun way to step outside and experience all the locally owned places to dine and drink. Leisurely we walked the streets of the Romantic Zone. With each direction we turned, we found new adventures. These exciting escapades would have remained undiscovered if we had stayed in an all-inclusive. We got to know the town, the people, and we felt like we were always in the right place at the right time. Plus, we felt very safe while roaming the area.
