While the tulips are in bloom is the perfect time to take a walk at Hafer Park. My friend, Barbara Marshall, called me and said, “Spring has sprung at Hafer Park. Let’s go for a walk.”
I highly suggest you take a little time out of your schedule to smell the roses, or in this case, the tulips. You will feel like you are on vacation in Holland. There are also daffodils, and the redbuds are beginning to bloom and fill the walking paths with color.
While walking on the trails and around the park, we saw children feeding the ducks, families having picnics, lovers holding hands, and even a lone man standing on the outdoor stage shouting scripture. I felt like I had entered a living Norman Rockwell Painting.
Hafer Park has 1.5 miles of paved trails. On Thursdays from May 26th through August 18th, you can enjoy free concerts at the park. The music begins at 6:15 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.
