Panera Bread

Gets a Medicare Jet-Setters Groovy Review

Summertime means the Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken Salad is back at Panera Bread. I had my first one of the season last week at the Panera Bread on Memorial in OKC. This salad continues to be my favorite summertime classic.

Panera Bread is white-glove clean, fast, consistent, and the acoustics at the location on Memorial make the conversation flow. My Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken salad arrived at the table. The colors were vibrant. Mixing the red strawberries, and yellow pineapple, with the bright green of the lettuce, including the sunny orange of the mandarins, and topped off with the blues of blueberries created a rainbow in the salad.

The chilled salad bowl enhanced the crisp flavor of the salad. A drizzling of poppyseed dressing and the chopped pecans give it a perfect crunch with a zing of flavor.

My friend had the Green Goddess Cobb Salad. Like my Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken salad, hers was also a fresh bouquet of beautiful vegetables and proteins. The colors in this salad came from several different lettuce and greens mixed. Heightening the explosion of color and taste were grape tomatoes, red onions, and avocados. Applewood smoked bacon and hard-boiled eggs layered in the salad made it perfect.

We both had a glass of plum ginger hibiscus iced tea. This refreshing tea has 0 calories, and it paired perfectly with our cold summer salads.

If you haven't tried one of Panera Breads' crisp cold summer salads in a while, I highly recommend you indulge before the summer is gone.

Panera Bread gets a Medicare Jet-Setters groovy rating.
