On a recent return to Enid, I spied a big sign for Pier 81. Having lived in Enid most of my life, there were a few places to get seafood, but not many. I love fish, and I was excited when I saw Pier 81. Many years ago, Red Lobster tried to make it, but it was short-lived. The Sage Room had fantastic crab legs, but that option was no longer available when the restaurant closed its doors. For years, Long John Silvers was our only choice. Now you understand why seeing Pier 81 come to town generated my enthusiasm.
Stepping into the restaurant, you feel you are sitting inside a place that could be on Fisherman’s Warf in San Francisco. I could swear I even heard the rolling waves of the ocean. Okay, maybe it was the strong winds outside, but hey, inside Pier 81, your imagination can wander. They are working on their liquor license, so you won’t be able to indulge in an adult beverage for a while, but that will soon change.
The service is friendly and great. You can tell the manager has done an excellent job of training the staff. May I suggest you try one of their boils for the first visit? You will get a variety of seafood delights and sides. You also get to pick your sauce. I tried the Pier 81 Special Blend, and I highly recommend this fusion. You also get to choose your level of spicy; calm seas are mild, Surf On is spicy, and Kraken Rising is extreme.
On future trips to Enid, Pier 81 will be on my list.
Pier 81 gets a Medicare Jet-Setters Groovy Rating.
