The Eleanor

Gets a Medicare Jet-Setters Groovy Review

Do you ever feel like you want to go somewhere that is pink? A space designed for a girl's night out that is so frilly, no matter if you are eighteen or eighty, you will feel like a princess? My friend Linda Pope and I discovered such a location. That place is called The Eleanor. It is uptown at 317 NW 23rd St, Oklahoma City.

Before we could even sit down in the comfy royal blue booth surrounded by pink walls, we had to explore. We discovered chandeliers in the bar and an entire wall with silk flowers covering it from top to bottom. There were white carousel horses attached to a pink rose wall. The setting makes a perfect spot for a selfie or photo opportunity. As Linda and I explored The Eleanor, we felt whimsical.

Once seated, our server brought us a bowl of Lucky Charms. "Lucky Charms?" I asked her.

"Yes," she grinned, "Believe it or not, Lucky Charms pairs well with Champagne."

We were lucky; we were there during happy hour. We both ordered our first ever Chambongs for only $3.00. Since The Eleanor is Oklahoma City's largest champagne lounge, we knew we must experience the Chambongs. We laughed as we drank from the flamboyant bong container.

After Linda and I finished giggling, we got serious and ordered the $5.00 Baked Goat Cheese Happy Hour Special. We also added a Charcuterie Board to share.

The baked goat cheese was topped with apricot preserves & spiced candied pecans, served with toast points. If you are a goat cheese connoisseur like Linda and me, you will love this dish. The one serving feeds two people with ample portions.

Our Charcuterie Board delighted us with the freshness of the food items, the design, and the taste. Our server was charming in helping us learn how to pronounce Charcuterie. There were so many selections on our board it was plenty for both of us with leftovers to take home and enjoy the next day or for a midnight snack.

Linda noticed the beautiful China on our table. She turned it over to check out the name. The China was a name brand, and we googled it. It proved to be expensive. We mentioned the quality of the dishes to our server, and she explained the owners of The Eleanor believed in going first class for their customers.

When we finished, our bills came printed on pink paper! The Eleanor does not miss a single detail where they can use pink. That was the perfect ending to a perfect girl's night out.

The Eleanor is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Reservations are suggested.
